JACALYN EVONE
VISUAL STORYTELLING & IMAGE MAKER
MY STORY
A Multimedia Visual Art Creative
Jacalyn's portfolio includes both photography and film.
She has produced and/or directed short films, feature-length documentaries & indie films, and over 300 programs for local cable access television. Her documentary "Out of The Darkness" was a WAVE Award recipient for excellence in local cable programming from the Alliance for Community Media Western States Region.
Her passion for photography began many years ago when she had the opportunity to photograph both Muhammad Ali and actor Brock Peters in each of their respective households. Brock, best known for his role as Tom Robinson in the 1962 film To Kill a Mockingbird, displayed her photos of him and his wife Didi in his home. After that, she picked up her camera and has captured her love of life through its lens ever since. Eventually, she included film with her photography, which became a natural extension for her expressive storytelling today.
She brings valuable experience to local youth, sharing her knowledge and a wide range of imaginative options through her local workshops, Kids N Film, building youth self-esteem through the camera lens. She is the Founding Director of The International KidsNFilm Festival with Emmy Award-Winning Actor Kim Estes, renowned actor George Maguire, both serving as jurors since its inception. Additionally, she is the Founding Director of the Monologues International Film Fest.
Jacalyn is a graduate of The Academy of Art University San Francisco Motion Picture and Television.
